Bhadrak Kali Puja – On Bhadrakali Jayanti, people celebrate the day Goddess Bhadrakali was born. On the Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on the “ekadashi” of the Krishna Paksha in the month of “Jyeshta.” Kali Puja, honouring the Hindu goddess Kali, is one of the most well-known celebrations in India. The month of Kartik is when the festivities take place. This annual event takes place in either October or November on the Gregorian calendar. The day of Lakshmi Puja is celebrated as the holiday. On this auspicious day, many people in Nepal and India celebrate Diwali, while in West Bengal, Assam, and Orissa, they honour the Goddess Kali.

Vendors not just from the State, but also from neighbouring regions such as West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Manipur, and UP, set up stalls to display and sell their wares in conjunction with the puja.

Maa is being worshiped in a beautiful temple at the mouth of Shalandi river. According to historians, the statue of Maa Bhadrakali was established in the 3rd century BC Meghasan Mountain is the place where Mother first appeared.

After the destruction of old temple in the attack of “Kalapahad”maa is being worshiped in the temple of now. The present temple was built in the late 19th century. Kali Puja is the main festival in Mali Bhadrak’s Peetha. On the occasion of Maa Kali Puja, maa appears to the devotees in the form of seven days. They are, Mahalakshmi, Mahakali, Mahasaraswati, Vedamata, Rajarajeshwari, Singha Bahini, Jagadhatri.









Similarly, the “Chaiti Ghoda” in Chitra month is a special and unique festival in Maa Peetha.
