How to worship lakshmi for wealth and Prosperous
- Do not sleep after sunrise and only sleep after dusk; Maa Lakshmi will bless you if you do so.
- While making and serving food, the lady should avoid tasting anything.
- Maa Lakshmi despises disharmony and never appears in domestic strife, therefore maintain peace at home.
- Always appreciate your wife and never disrespect her; she is also known as Grih Lakshmi (Lakshmi of Home). Dhan Lakshmi (Money Goddess) would appear automatically if she is happy.
- Maa Lakshmi always visits those who do not eat till after bathing and praying in the morning.
- Never count money with spit; Maa Lakshmi doesn’t like it.
- Always honour your parents and believe in God in the event of adversity.
- Those who do not provide food to the “Agni Devta” (God of Fire) will not thrive.
- On the New Moon day, always present food to your ancestors before taking it; Maa Lakshmi will be pleased.
- Maa Lakshmi is pleased with those who are eating and performing devotional songs in a private location.
- Perform morning and evening Aarti with your family on a regular basis, and Maa Lakshmi will stay at your home indefinitely.
- Never touch your food plate, girl, wife, book, or broom with your feet; this offends Maa Lakshmi.
- On every Friday of “Shukla Paksha” (the bright lunar fortnight or waxing moon in the Hindu calendar), colour the rice grains red and then drop them in flowing water while remembering Maa Lakshmi. Shukla Paksha is a 15-day period considered auspicious that begins on Shukla Amavasya (New Moon) day and ends on Poornima (Full Moon) day.

Puja Bidhi for Blessing of Goddess Lakshmi
- Place a clean and raised platform on top of the cloth. Place a kalash on top of a handful of grains sprayed in the centre of the cloth. A handful of grains, water, a flower, a coin, and betel nuts are all added. Take five different leaves or five mango leaves and wrap them around the kalash’s neck.
- On the kalash, place a small plate loaded with rice. With turmeric powder, draw a lotus on the rice and lay the statue of Goddess Lakshmi on it. Surround the idol with coins.
- Place a Ganesha idol in front of the kalash and light a Panchmukhi diya (five-faced lamp). The lamp aids in the removal of negativity and the introduction of prosperity and positive energy.
- Offer Goddess Lakshmi kumkum, turmeric, and flowers. Recite mantras from the Vedas.
- Sprinkle water, panchamrita, and water with gold/pearl ornaments over the Lakshmi statue on a plate. Reposition the idol atop the kalash and shower it with water, flowers, and panchamirita. In front of the Goddess, light a Panchmukhi Diya and an incense stick.
- To the Goddess, offer puffed rice, chocolates, coconut, and fruits.
- Jewelry and other valuables should be placed on a swastika. It is revered as Lord Kubera’s insignia.
- Make an aarti.
