It is geographically situated is at an elevation of 3 Meters (9 feet). It is located at Latitude-21.125322 / Longitude-86.742099. It is situated a distance of 36 Kms from the District Head Quarters towards Noth-East and 7 Kms from Sahid Tirtha, Eram Circumscribed by Bay of Bengal at east, Gamei River at North, Narasinghpur GP at west and Binayakpur GP at South.

On July 3, 1963, the Atal Behari College was founded. In 1983, the CHSE of Orissa was established to accommodate the +2 sream of courses after secondary education, in accordance with the UGC education pattern in India. CHSE, Orissa is our college’s affiliation. It is an associated college of Fakir Mohan University, which has its headquarters in Vyasa Vihar, Balasore A.B College is now a full-fledged degree college with honours in English, Economics, History, Political Science, Oriya, Sanskrit, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Zoology, and Accounting. Hindustani Music (Vocal) was offered as an optional topic in the +2 arts stream in 2003.
