Rabinarayan Brata is one of the Festivals and Brata celebrated in India specially Odisha centered around the God Sun. If 11th Tithi of Baisakh Shukla falls on Sunday then Biranchi Narayan Brata or Rabinarayan Brata is observed. By observing Ravi Narayan brata , one gets rid of all kinds of sins and increases luck and wealth.
Biranchi Narayan Brata Katha
It is believed that if women worship Rabinarayan or Surya with sincerity and devotion, they will be saved from marital guilt. The importance of Brata is mentioned in the book Rabinarayan Brata Katha. By worshiping Sun Narayan in this vow, a potter got an immortal bridegroom and with her power she saved Sadhabani and her daughter from misfortune. It is worshiped with seven types of flowers, fruits, seven cottons, seven sticks, bamboo leaves and seven grains. At the end of the puja, the bridegroom will not eat anything other than the food offered. The next morning, the Brata is initiated by taking a bath and offering devotional offerings to the Sun God.
