Juneteenth is a holiday that is celebrated every year on June 19 to remember the day in 1865 when Union forces carried out the Emancipation Proclamation and freed all of the slaves who were still living in Texas. People can enjoy freedom and equal rights in the United States on this day.

- Date– 16th June – 19th June 2023
- Observation – Since 2021, Juneteenth has been a national holiday in the United States. But each state has its own rules about how the day is recognised and observed.
- It is a paid state holiday in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia, among other places. It is also an official holiday in other states.
- Purpose-Juneteenth commemorates the 1865 Emancipation Proclamation by Union soldiers that liberated all Texas slaves. This day gives Americans freedom and equality.
- Activities-Some states give state workers a day off. Some stores, post offices, and other businesses may close or have limited hours. Many public transit systems follow a timetable, however modifications may occur. Large public events may affect local traffic.
- City halls, libraries, schools, and post offices display Juneteenth banners, yard signs and flags are often used to promote the celebration in business conference rooms and neighbourhoods.
