International Womens Day is observed on March 8 every year to honor women’s accomplishments throughout history and across borders. International Women’s Day honors women’s accomplishments all throughout the world.
The day is marked by the cultural, political, social and economic development of many women.
The purpose of the day is to commemorate the achievements and to accelerate the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment around the world.

International women’s day history
on 24th February 1906 United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) marks the first National Women’s Day in the United States. On March 6, 1917, Russian women protested for their rights, with the result that they were given the right to vote. However, on March 7, 1955, the United Nations celebrated International Women’s Day for the first time. It is being observed in many countries as a national holiday after the UN General Assembly adopted the International Day of Recognition on the 16th.
