Robert Ettinger, who is known as the “Father of Cryonics,” started the Cryonics Institute on April 4, 1976, in Detroit, Michigan. He was president of the institute until 2003.
In 1962, Ettinger wrote a book called “The Prospect of Immortality,” in which he talked about the idea of cryonics. In 1993, the business moved to Clinton Township, Michigan, where it is still located.
