Always exercise caution toward selfish, negative, and unruly individuals in life, as they may inflict harm while masquerading as friends or family. Vigilance is especially important in unfamiliar environments, hazardous situations, and during times of physical, mental or vulnerability. Avoid placing blind trust in anyone, as concealed threats (enemies) could be present at any moment.
- Do not participate in community politics, nor engage in political slander.
- Do not take sides in a dispute between two people.
- Do not borrow from a close friend, nor lend to one.
- Do not introduce your enemy to anyone.
- Do not swim in a swiftly flowing river.
- Do not speak harsh words to your wife, son, or daughter.
- Do not enter another person’s home without reason or permission.
- Do not bear witness in a matter involving someone else’s misfortune.
- It is said: Amini, Kamini, Jamini—unless they fall, they remain steadfast; so has Agastya always maintained.
- If you are not accustomed to climbing trees, do not attempt to climb one.
- Do not embark on a long journey alone.
- If you do not take care of yourself, wealth cannot be preserved.
- If parents fail to educate their son, he is destined to become poor.
- He who possesses the capacity to endure is truly great; however, this does not imply tolerating injustice.
The life of a humble person is a blessed one.
