Taj Mahal the  Symbol of Love

It is situated in the city of Agra, Western Uttarpradesh , Northern India

It is the house of tomb of both Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his most lovable wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Located in the eastern portion of the city, on the southern bank of the Yamuna River and is roughly 1.6 km west of Agra Fort

Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had started the construction in 1632. The mausoleum was substantially finished in 1643

It was overseen by a board of architects chaired by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri who was the emperor’s court architecteur

IIn 1983, the Taj Mahal was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being “India’s jewel of Muslim art.

Receives 7–8 million tourists per year and New 7 Wonders of the World initiative in 2007
