After the president, the vice president is the second-highest constitutional office in the Indian government. According to Article 63 of the Indian Constitution, in the event of a crisis brought on by the resignation, removal, death, impeachment, or inability of the president to carry out their duties, the vice president assumes the duties of the president. Additionally, they serve as the ex officio chair of India’s Parliament’s upper body, the Rajya Sabha.
Jagdeep Dhankhar
As of August 11, 2022, Jagdeep Dhankhar, an Indian politician and attorney, will be the country’s 14th vice president. He previously held the position of Governor of West Bengal. In 1990, he served as the Chandra Shekhar ministry’s Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
