The Statue of Unity was built in dedication to Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950). It is located at Narmada Valley Kevadiya, Narmada, Gujarat, India.

It is located on the Narmada River facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam and was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018, the 143rd anniversary of Patel’s birth.

Details about the Statue of Unity

The height of Statue of Unity is 182 metres (597 feet) which is the world’s tallest statue. Ram V. Sutar designed the statue of unity. Material used for construction are Steel framing, reinforced by concrete and brass coating, bronze cladding. The construction work started on 31 October 2013 and opened on 31 October 2018.

Entry Ticket Fee

A basic entry ticket to the Statue of Unity costs Rs. 120 for adults and Rs. 60 for kids. It gives you entry to the valley of flower, memorial, museum and audio visual gallery, the Statue of Unity site and the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The wide environs and river basin of the Narmada River, as well as the massive Sardar Sarovar dam, are seen from the Statue of Unity. It is located on the Sadhu Bet hilltop and is reached by a 300-meter bridge that connects the mainland to the statue.

How to get the statue of Unity by road

Driving on State Highway 11 and 63 will take you around 100 kilometres from Vadodara, 200 kilometres from Ahmedabad, and 420 kilometres from Mumbai to reach the place. You’ll arrive in Kevadia, which is located in the Narmada area, and the statue is only 3.5 kilometres away.
