Santoshi Mata is a Hindu goddess who is the granddaughter of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the daughter of their youngest son Lord Ganesha and wife Siddhiriddhi, the niece of Kartikeya, Ashokasundari, Ayappa, Jyoti and Manasa, and the sister of Subha and Lav.

In the Puranas, Santoshi Mata is described as the goddess of happiness and accepts all the problems and hardships of all her devotees and blesses them with happiness and prosperity. Santoshi Puja and fast are performed every Friday. It is believed that food made of gud and gram is offered to Mata Santoshi. After the pujapath and aarti, the prasad should be distributed to everyone. People performing puja and receiving prasad should avoid sour food on Fridays, otherwise it is believed that they will have to face the wrath of Mata Santoshi. Jayama Santoshi
