Maa Saraswati or Maa Sarasvati is the Hindu goddess of learning, music, art, speech, and wisdom. She is one of tridevi along with Lakshmi and Parvati. Maa Sarasvati is usually depicted wears a white robe with four arms, holding a book, a rosary, a water pot, and a Veena musical instrument and dominates in the lotus.

Hindu festival dedicated to Maa Saraswati celebrated as Vasant Panchami or Sri Panchami which is the 5th day of spring also known as Saraswati Puja and Saraswati Jayanti in many regions of India.
This Puja are performed mainly in educational institutions on this day.The students decorate the institutions in a beautiful way. They fast until they pay homage to Mother Saraswati and pay homage to her. On this day, the children dedicate their textbooks and pens to the mother in order to receive the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
In ancient times, kings and queens celebrated this day as the “Kaumudi” festival. The queen was adorned with flowers, the queen was swinging with flowers, and the people came and ate at the palace. On the fifth day of Magh Panchami, the Gopis also celebrated the Ras festival with Krishna.
In some areas, both couples celebrate Magh Shukla Panchami as Valentine’s Day. Kamadeva and Rati are worshiped with yellow flowers and worshiped for marital happiness. According to the scriptures, on the day of Sri Panchami, marriage and engagement work are done for make the marriage happier. Those who have not been able to get married are believed to have gotten married at this time by bathing with turmeric and wearing yellow clothes, decorating Krishna Lord in yellow clothes and celebrating the spring festival by hanging them in yellow flowers.
