The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup marks the tenth iteration of this prestigious tournament, jointly organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and Sri Lanka Cricket, taking place from 7 February to 8 March 2026. Sri Lanka previously hosted the event in 2012, while India did so in 2016. A total of twenty teams will participate in 55 matches held across five venues in India and three in Sri Lanka.

The tournament features twenty competing teams, which include the two host nations, six of the top seven teams from the last edition, the four highest-ranked teams in the ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings that have not already qualified, and eight additional teams that secured their spots through regional qualifiers. Notably, Italy has qualified for the Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time. India enters the tournament as the defending champions, having claimed victory in the previous edition.

Group Stages of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
The ICC revealed the groups and fixtures on 25 November 2025, with the group stage scheduled to take place from 7 to 20 February. A total of 20 teams were categorized into four groups of five, with each team competing against the others in their respective group. The group stage is set to include a total of 40 matches. The inaugural match will occur between the Netherlands and Pakistan at the SSC Cricket Ground on 7 February. Super 8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026
The Super 8 stage of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup includes India, South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe in Group 1, while England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand comprise Group 2. Matches will take place in India and Sri Lanka, with the leading two teams from each group progressing to the semi-finals. The final match is scheduled for March 8, 2026, in Ahmedabad.
